【A wooden Maximum Card - Engineering Excellence Project : KLIA 木质极限片-吉隆坡机场】

Numeral years ago, I bought this wooden postcard from a Pet shop in Mid-Valley. I could NOT understand why a Pet shop selling solely pet animals had these unique wooden postcards for Sale ? A 5mm thick wooden piece postcard weighs 100 gm, I wonder whether anybody had ever tried to send such a postcard by mail ? What would be the postage for such a postcard ?

Anyway, I like the KLIA Airport picture on the wooden postcard,i Kept the postcard till the day I realised it as a maximum card when the Engineering Excellence   Stamp issue was officially launched on 24.01.2005. I made a trip to the KLIA post office to have the official cancellation of the "KL International Airport" pictorial postmark.

多年前，我在吉隆坡商场的一间宠物店买下这一枚木质明信片。我在想一间专门售卖小动物的专卖店为何会这么样的明信片出售呢？一枚 5 公分厚度，重约 100 克的明信片，是否有人尝试把它投入邮筒寄出去呢？那邮资又会是多少钱呢？

我喜欢这一枚木质明信片上的吉隆坡机场图画，买了下来珍藏了多年。一直到 2015.1.24 邮政发行吉隆坡机场纪念邮票时，我才把它制作了一枚极限片。我专程驱车到机场邮政局盖了“吉隆坡国际机场”的首日专印。

搜寻马航MH370, 各国搜救队伍一早忙到晚 Searching for MH370, Australia Pearce Airbase was busy day and night

澳大利亚 Pearce 空军基地每天清早都有多国飞机整装待发飞往千公里外的印度洋搜寻失联马航客机MH370。 天色还黑暗，搜救人员早已准备前往搜救现场工作，每天如是，无奈搜救工作艰辛，为了寻求一个真相，大家的合作与努力，我们给你们献上至高敬意。

At the Australia Perth Pearce Air Base, aircrafts are seen flying off at dawn to carry out the Search for the Missing Malaysia airline MH370 . Tens of aircrafts from various countries in a joint effort to Search for MH370 aiming at unveiling the mystery of the missing aircraft. I salute the contribution of the Search team.

KLIA Airport - the Gateway to Malaysia 吉隆坡国际机场

I thought I should NOT miss to realise an MC on Airbus A380 's first appearance on a Malaysia Stamp 7.7.2011 空中巨无霸A380首度登入大马邮票，不制作极限片，实有点可惜。

 

Just for the sake of realising "100 Year of Aviation in Malaysia" MCs , I detoured from an assignment at Majlis Perbandaran Nilai and shot to KLIA via Enstek country road. When I arrived at approx. 10.00 am, was told by the postal staff, all the stamps and covers had been fully SOLD, as I had got myself prepared with the stamps I bought earlier from Seremban GPO, hence, I only requested for the rubber stamp to have my Maximum Cards postmarked. Airbus A380 - the biggest commercial aircraft in history is featured for the first time on a Malaysian Stamp, although Malaysia has yet to acquire one . I thought I should NOT miss this stamp on a maximum card.  I received several telephone calls to request to buy and service FDCs on behalf, however, nothing can be done .... the set of stamps and covers were SOLD out early in the morning at all the post offices nationwide.

 

I do not collect First Day Covers, But due to the request from a FDC Lover, I bought the "100 year of Aviation in Malaysia" stamps and covers from Seremban GPO and serviced them @ KLIA post office. A pictorial cancel and a CDS postmark were applied on the FDC.
