Taiping Lake Gardens is the first public garden established during the British rule in Malaysia. It is notable for its series of hundred year old Raintrees grown around the lake.

太平湖是马来西亚英属时代所建造的第一个公共公园。太平湖的一个特色景点就是那一些环绕着湖边生长的百年雨树。

主耶稣钉十字架之前，曾经骑着驴，最后一次进入耶路撒冷城。城里的群众手持棕榈枝夹道欢迎主耶稣的到来。为纪念这件事情，后来的教会规定，复活节前的一周的星期日举行庆祝活动，这一周就叫做棕榈节。这个星期日（主日）叫做棕枝主日。

Ad cards are rich in topical subjects, many a times they are just superb for the realising of an MC. I like this Ad Card, it shows a covered road /lane with rows of rain trees by the 2 sides of the road.

Have you come across such a pinkish TREE ?

Have you seen such a pinkish flowering tree before ? This tree is around us, however, we fail to notice it and do NOT know the name of it . It is of course a tropical tree grown locally. It is maximaphily again that pushed me to learn about this tree, having known it, I was ready to capture it on a Maximum Card for my treasure. Please enjoy !

Is the hobby Maximaphily contradicting to the appeal for SAVING OUR EARTH campaign?

Maximaphily's principal medium , the postcard is made from paper , the source of which is from the TREES. The more maximum cards you create, the more postcards you demand, and hence the more trees to cut down . Is this hobby contradicting to the SAVE OUR EARTH appeal ?  Above is a maximum card realised with a WWF Save the Earth appeal postcard.  Appealing NOT to cut down trees and yet producing more  papers, are they contradicting to each other ?

Just because of its Shape, it is being excluded from the family of Maximaphily

The present FIP rule says ONLY rectangular or square shape postcards are permitted to realise as maximum cards. Odd and irregular shapes postcards are family of the postcard, BUT they are being excluded from the family of the Maximaphily just because of their shapes. Odd shape postcards had been existing for many years, and they are collectibles in their own right. There is no reason why they must be excluded from the Maximaphily. Maximum card realised with an odd shape postcard fulfills the 3 basic elements forming a maximum card, it is a maximum card by theory . Odd shape maximum cards add varieties to Maximaphily. I will like to see a collection on odd shape maximum cards. FIP rules do change, it is up to the fellow members attending the congress to have the rules amended by votes. Just before I see the change of the rule on  issue about Odd Shape maximum cards, I will NOT stop producing Odd Shape maximum card, if I have ONE relevant odd shape postcard in hand, I will turn it into a maximum card. Raintree maxicard 雨树极限片

Raintree has its branches spreading wide in all directions, shaped like a natural umbrella, it has the power of sheltering people from rains.

Above is a natural maximum card created by a philatelist in the 80s, which is a rather scarce maximum card created in the period.

雨树枝干伸展宽阔，具有遮雨功能，形状有如一把伞，是大马常见的一种热带树木。

这一枚80年代制作的自然极限片是一枚少见的马来西亚极限片。
