I have this FDC of the Malaysia-China 600 years of relationship, I noted the date on the pictorial cancel is 7.7.2005, I read the date of issue on the enclosed leaflet within the FDC, the date says 21.7.2005. Which is the correct date, Can someone clarify ?

收藏中有一枚马中友谊 600 周年纪念首日封，发现到封上的日期与说明册子的日期有出入，戳的日期是 7.7.2005， 册子注明的是 21.7.2005，那一个对呢？

Maximum Cards of the Early periods of Malaysia are scarce, as virtually no local collectors then knew about the hobby, however, some early Malayan MCs do exist, perhaps, they were created by tourists, or foreign residents staying in the country.   A typical example of the early Malayan Maximum Card is as follows :

In the 80s, Reggie Lee Designer's Postcards marketed through memory lane were common on the postcard racks throughout Malaysia. Many popular themes were produced and they are absolutely good materials for realising Maximum cards. Reggie Lee Designer had stopped producing new postcards, old stocks are getting scarce and it is hard to hunt for them nowadays. I used to buy up some of these cards whenever I see them,although, they are no longer as fresh as mint,very often covered with dirt.

I had used this cartoon satay man postcard to realise Maximum cards for several new stamp issues in the past.  I am using it again this time for the Hong Kong - Malaysia Joint Issue.

80年代时期，Reggie Lee Designer 明信片在市场推出一系列的主题明信片。这一些由 memory lane 出版的明信片很适合制作极限片。出版社已经停止印制明信片，存货已经越来越稀有。一般我看到有关系列的明信片，虽然品相不佳，稀薄灰尘沾满面，我依然会购买一些来备用。

我曾用这一枚 reggie lee designer 沙爹人漫画明信片制作了无数新马新邮极限片。这一回还是重用它来制作 香港-大马联发的地道美食极限片，胜任有余！共赏！

I have this "Satay Man postcard" by SW Singapore printer of the 1960s, to a pure deltiologist ,he prefers to keep the postcard in its vintage condition, however, I prefer to give this postcard a new life by turning it into a maximum card as I am a pure maximaphilist. Nobody is right or wrong.
Mobile satay man selling across the streets and alleys had been a common scene in the past. Equipped with tools, a satay man can prepare satay freely at any place. Just as the picture of the postcard shows, I enjoyed the moments of eating satay in an open air environment.

Well, life has gone through tremendous changes, selling satay on the streets is disappearing from our sight.Production of satay is highly commercialised, and of course the original flavour of the satay is Gone. I can now find the fragrance of satay flavour in my Maximum Card. Enjoy!

这一枚“沙爹人”明信片是新加坡著名明信片印制商于60年代所发行。对于一个纯明信片收集者而言，他会选择保存原片而收存。然而我却选择赋予这一枚老片一个新生命，把它制成一枚极限片，因为我是一个极限人。大家都是在收集，没有所谓的对与错。
流动“沙爹人”骑着铁马到处叫卖沙爹在早年时代极为普遍。一个“沙爹人”载着简单的烧制沙爹工具，就可随处叫卖沙爹。 正如明信片上的“沙爹人”现场烧制情景，叫我缅怀那一年在露天即兴享受吃沙爹的乐趣。

时代变迁，“沙爹人”随街叫卖的情景已不复在。如今沙爹的制作已经机械化，少了传统烧制的美味。我也只能回到我制作的极限片上一享沙爹风味的乐趣。共赏！

I began with collecting FDCs,and particularly fond to have the FDCs REGISTERED going through the mail. Others got their FDCs on the spot, I had to wait a couple of days to have the REGISTERED FDCs delivered to my address.A Registered FDC has a numbered Registered label and bears a traditional metal date stamp of the day. Registered FDC is therefore truly a First Day Cover, the metal date stamping on the cover endorses the true date of the issue of the stamps. Since the introduction of barcode registered labels in lieu of the stamps for Registered mail, I found no fun in sending FDCs by Registered mail anymore, since I have to fork out additional cost to buy the barcode Registered label to have the FDC Registered, the stamps affixed on the FDC can no longer be treated as registration postage. The days are Gone ... it is getting even more absurd when new stamps were put on sale on a later date than the date of issue. It wipes out the realisation of a Registered FDC completely. The coming joint issue with Hong Kong Post has a lapse of 8 days between the First Day of issue and First day of Sale. The term FDC might have to be rewritten, they are no longer "real", perhaps, you may think of a proper term to describe such a cover.

I fancy the days though had to line up in a long queque to buy new stamps and prepare for Registered FDCs，the joy is to receive the Real FDCs delivered at my doorstep. Will like to share a 2001 Registered FDC with a Pos Daftar label of fancy number "7777", not very often I got such a fancy number,however, this adds spice to my collection. 

年少时我就知道邮局发行新邮都会严谨的遵守首日发行的日期，从来不轻易的更改。近年来马来西亚邮政开始变色，许多的新邮不再遵守首日发行，多次的延后发行 屡次发生，叫集邮人无从适从。香港联发新邮铁定 2014年10月9日两地同时发行，又起变卦，香港邮政如期单独发行，大马邮政竟延至 10月17日才出售，出现首日发行与首日发售相差8日的笑话。

以往我喜欢投寄挂号首日封，钟情首日封上有个图案戳再加上一个传统的日期戳和一个挂号标签。挂号首日封有个铁日期，真实赖不了，给首日封添上一小亮点。让 邮局额外上挂号也无需多花费，何乐而不为呢？自从邮局不接受首日封无需多花费挂号寄出，也取消了挂号标签，我也不再收集首日封了。。。想起当年的收集首日 封乐趣，心里感觉嘘唏！

贴一枚2001年自寄的挂号首日封，有首日图案戳，邮局的挂号标签，邮局的普通日戳，很有传统味道的一枚挂号首日封。如今再也没有这么样的制作乐趣了。。感叹！

Pos Malaysia issued a set of stamp to commemorate " 600th Anniversary of the first sail of the Admiral Zheng He", one of the stamp depicts a typical RED Chinese Seal of the Ming Emperor. I was unable to find a postcard of the Ming Emperor's seal, however, I do pocess a set of postcards with all types of Chinese Seals . It was quite pleasant to have this particular Chinese Seal stamp affixed admist the series of Seals, as though the stamp is part of the post card. Can you spot the stamp on the card ? It is a 30 sen stamp, affixed at the bottom left corner of the card, duly cancelled with a First Day of Issue pictorial postmark @ Jalan Laksamana Post Office, where Admiral Zheng He first landed in Melaka. 

马来西亚邮政在2005年发行一套纪念“郑和下西洋600周年”邮票，其中一枚的图画是一个明朝皇帝的玉玺(中国朱砂印章)。当时很想制作一枚浓浓中国味 的极限片，找不到一枚配对的皇帝玉玺，却找得一本中国印章的明信片本。我尝试把30sen邮票贴上去明信片，看到邮票的朱砂印并排在一系列的中国印当中， 效果还真不赖!很高兴制作了一枚浓浓中国风的马来西亚极限片。30sen邮票的所在位置，你们看得到它贴在那里呢？是的，邮票就贴在片的左下角。我以马六 甲红屋邮政局的首日图案戳盖了邮票，因为这一个地点是郑和船队登陆马来西亚的地点。共赏！

Early Malaysian maximum cards are scarce since the collectors then focused on stamp collecting and virtually no one knew about Maximaphily. However, there do exist some early Malaysian maximum cards believed to have been created by tourists or foreign residents in this country. I found this maximum card of the Pre-Malaysia period which was created in the year 1963 when North Borneo (presently Sabah) was NOT even part of the country. The postmark cancellation was done @ Jesselton (former name of Kota Kinabalu), the capital of North Borneo. This is a nice piece of maximum card depicting a clouded leopard which is fully concordant of the image on the card with that of the subject on stamp. A maximum card of age records a little on history makes the collectible interesting. I like it !

马来西亚老极限片稀少，在早年的时代，集邮人多着重于收集邮票，或许那个时候本土还不曾有人知道极限片是什么个东东。然而，老极限片还是存在。一般相信这 一些老极限片多是过境游客或是一些旅居本地的外国人所制。多年前我找到一枚马来西亚成立前的极限片，1963年还没加入马来西亚的北婆罗洲（现称沙巴）云 豹极限片。盖的邮戳是杰西顿 （亚庇旧称）。一枚极限片上的邮戳记录了历史。我喜欢！

There are leather made, flimsy , they are NOT in the form of a Card, however, they are named postcards instead of post-leathers. Leather postcards were commonly found in the States in the early years where leather was easily and cheaply available. It is no longer practical and cheap to have postcards produced in the form of leather. I have this RABBIT leather postcard in my collection for years. I thought it was a great idea to have it turned into a Maximum Card instead, and here it is the RABBIT maximum card (leather) realised in the year 2011.

皮革明信片，柔软，不是纸皮所制却也冠于明信片之称，怎不叫明信皮革呢？ 皮革明信片在早期的美国随处可见，当时的皮革取之容易，价钱也廉宜。到了今天，动物的皮革逐渐稀少，制造皮革明信片实也不符经济效益咯！我的这一枚 “兔子”皮革明信片收藏多年，终于让我在 2011 年邮政发行“兔子”邮票时，制作了一枚皮革极限片了。共赏！

Numeral years ago, I bought this wooden postcard from a Pet shop in Mid-Valley. I could NOT understand why a Pet shop selling solely pet animals had these unique wooden postcards for Sale ? A 5mm thick wooden piece postcard weighs 100 gm, I wonder whether anybody had ever tried to send such a postcard by mail ? What would be the postage for such a postcard ?

Anyway, I like the KLIA Airport picture on the wooden postcard,i Kept the postcard till the day I realised it as a maximum card when the Engineering Excellence   Stamp issue was officially launched on 24.01.2005. I made a trip to the KLIA post office to have the official cancellation of the "KL International Airport" pictorial postmark.

多年前，我在吉隆坡商场的一间宠物店买下这一枚木质明信片。我在想一间专门售卖小动物的专卖店为何会这么样的明信片出售呢？一枚 5 公分厚度，重约 100 克的明信片，是否有人尝试把它投入邮筒寄出去呢？那邮资又会是多少钱呢？

我喜欢这一枚木质明信片上的吉隆坡机场图画，买了下来珍藏了多年。一直到 2015.1.24 邮政发行吉隆坡机场纪念邮票时，我才把它制作了一枚极限片。我专程驱车到机场邮政局盖了“吉隆坡国际机场”的首日专印。
